Remarkable engineering scene: golden orb-weaver spider — one of world's largest web-building spiders, golden-yellow web famous for extraordinary strength — in process of constructing magnificent web between two jungle trees. Spider herself large and beautiful, with striped golden legs and striking pattern. Web partly complete — frame threads all in place and spiral perhaps two-thirds done. Web catches morning light and shines like silver or gold wire. Every strand geometrically perfect. Some sections decorated with zigzag stabilimenta (characteristic zig-zag silk decorations orb-weavers add to webs). Small insects already caught; small curious frog watching spider at work from safe distance.
