Educational, respectful, beautiful cultural atlas page about Ethiopian/Eritrean Orthodox Christmas. Two main panels: 1) Genna (Christmas, January 7th): Ethiopian Orthodox church (round, thatched or tin roof, walled compound) with large crowd arriving for Christmas service — all wearing traditional white cotton netela (shawl), many carrying lit candles. Priests at entrance in magnificent gold and red vestments carrying the Tabot (replica of the Ark of the Covenant) on their heads. Atmosphere: very early morning, star still visible, candlelight, chanting. 2) Timkat (Epiphany, January 19th): procession to a river or pool for re-enactment of Baptism of Jesus — priests in colourful vestments, people in white netelas, massive crowd with lit candles and processional umbrellas (ceremonial parasols in gold and red). Third panel: traditional Genna foods — Injera with Doro Wat.
