This is how it could look
Nature recovery scene: barren, newly cooled lava landscape — all black and grey rock, no vegetation — where very first plant pioneers beginning to take hold. Small team of animal pioneer gardeners (four or five small animals) carefully helping pioneer ferns to establish. Lava field almost entirely bare, but here and there: very first tiny ferns pushed up through cracks in rock, unfurling new fronds tender green against black. Animal gardeners helping: carefully filling cracks with organic matter, watering tiny plants with small watering cans, recording which plants growing where in small notebooks. Scene one of hope and beginning of recovery — landscape stark but small green ferns the beginning of everything.
