This is how it could look
Clever bird construction scene: special lava crow — large crow whose feathers turned dark red and black from living near volcanic heat — building its nest. Unusually for crow, builds with volcanic rocks instead of sticks. Selected perfect spot: crevice in lava field where two large rocks form natural alcove. Crow in middle of construction, carefully selected smooth lava stone in beak. Nest so far impressive: different lava rocks of different shapes and sizes fitted together like puzzle. Also incorporated interesting volcanic materials: piece of obsidian glass, piece of pumice. Crow's partner watching from nearby rock, occasionally offering opinions (building crow ignoring these).
